The Team behind the kings have refurbished the pub, pulling up the swirling 80’s carpets to restore the beautiful wooden floors and the low ceilings. This green-gabled community pub close to the ruins of the Lewes Priory, the Tudor Grange gardens and Anne of Cleeves House.
Our cuisine is traditional British heritage with a modern twist . So expect free-range, seasonal and sustainable produce with local affiliations. However, most importantly we are first and foremost a pub or boozer, that just happens to be enthusiastic about its food. Enjoy !

“Traditional wooden floors and low ceilings belie a thoroughly modern culinary approach that does full justice to free-range, seasonal and sustainable produce….pure flavours are allowed to shine in the starter of the wild rabbit rillette…..unctuous pot-roasted belly of pork, succulent skirt steak….exemplary hazelnut tart “
